The Importance of Regular Oil Changes for Car Health
When it comes to standard car maintenance, most people know that oil changes must be done regularly to keep your car running optimally. Most people probably don’t think about what’s actually involved in an oil change, they just drop off their car and let the mechanics do their job. We’re here to fill you in.
How Often Are They Necessary?
The general rule of thumb is anywhere from 5,000-10,000 miles or every six months, whichever comes first. This varies somewhat depending on who you ask – but mostly the mileage will vary. If you’re unsure, it’s best to err on the early side with oil changes. If nothing else, it offers another opportunity for your mechanic to catch a larger problem with your car – and more frequent oil changes will only guarantee your engine continues to run optimally.
